Until 4 years ago, I worked in upper management for corporate America. Having gone through some serious skin care issues myself; I began to seek the help and advice from professional skin care therapists. I soon realized that this was easier said then done. No one could tell me what was happening to my skin and they certainly couldn’t tell me why. This is when I decided to seek answers for myself so I enrolled in Aesthetician school.

From the very first day of school I had learned more than anyone had ever told me. I was so impressed with the complexity of the skin and I knew others would be too. I began practicing on my friends and family. They really enjoyed this. Soon, I began to distribute flyers to all the neighbors looking for guinea pigs to help me get practice. Before I knew it, I had people calling to make an appointment with me. I had clients with all sorts of issues. I was nervous at first. Would I know what to say, how to help them? I was impressed when I heard myself shouting out answers to their questions. I knew more than I thought I did. My clients loved this. Finally someone was telling them what they needed to hear, the truth! Someone actually cared about their issues as much as they did. Someone wanted to understand what was going on with their skin and more importantly, help them correct it. I found my niche I needed. Skin care with education. I continued my education through the International Dermal Institute and received my advanced skin therapy license.

I decided to stay at home and build my clientele while keeping my prices affordable, (about 1/3 of most day spas). My little niche caught on and word by mouth spread. Today I have over 400 clients and continue to make education my top priority. I love what I do and I love helping others.

They always say if your heart is in it, success will follow. This is definitely true for me! I am so glad I took a chance and followed my heart.
